update

Well, Joe had the surgery and we are back at his parent's house. His hospital stay wasn't uneventful and it didn't go very smoothly, but it's done. He has to stay completely off of it for 4 weeks. In about 4 weeks, he should have a walking cast put on it.

It has been 2 weeks since he broke it. The way life is now, it is almost too hard to believe he once walked on his own and lived life w/out pain. Two weeks ago I never would have believed that I could do all that I have done over these last 2 weeks. Of course, I have had aLOT of help to be able to do what I am doing. When someone helps me by cooking or watching the kids, it allows me to do something else that needs to be done.

Two weeks ago, I would have rested if someone took all my kids for the day. I just cannot describe the difference now. I am not saying this is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone, by any means! It's just that this is mind boggling to me that everything now falls on me. At first, I felt like crumbling under the weight of it.

But I am starting to become accustomed to it. Somewhat.

At first, I felt discouraged about not having Joe to back me up, but now, I actually feel empowered after doing it for awhile. My mind is adjusting and doing it "all" is becoming my new normal.
